Just as he left the Umbrella building, Jill called, "Darling, are you free? There's something I want to tell you."
"Alright, where should we meet?" Eddie nodded.
"At the apartment," Jill thought for a moment.
Back at the apartment, Rebecca, like a curious child, circled Jill, asking her all sorts of questions.
"Jill, I'm back. Is something wrong?" Eddie asked curiously.
Jill was still hesitant, unsure how to speak, seemingly worried about something. Joy and happiness, and various other emotions, flickered across her pretty face.
Rebecca, however, smiled brightly and said, "Hehe, Eddie, you're going to be a father! Jill is pregnant! When we were shopping earlier, Jill suddenly started throwing up nonstop, so we went for a check-up and found out she's pregnant."
"Is that true?" Eddie asked, overjoyed.
Jill lowered her head shyly, nodding. "Yes, it's strange. It hasn't even been a month, and I'm already having symptoms."
"Since you're pregnant, then let's have the baby. I'll take responsibility," Eddie said, nodding.
If he could have feared before that all this was just a dream, now Eddie was certain this was reality; he had indeed transmigrated. Having a child was what made a family, and that was real.
Eddie seemed to think of something, checked the time, and then made a decision. "Oh, right, Jill, I think you should start your maternity leave now. I'll apply to Chief Brian for an extended leave. And Raccoon City isn't very peaceful. Why don't you go to Europe, find a good place, buy a villa, and settle in first? I have money."
"So sudden?" Jill was a little surprised; she could feel her boyfriend's concern.
"Exactly. And I'd already decided to buy a house. You can help me look for one; you decide on the decorations and everything, and I'll pay for it," Eddie said with a smile, handing her a gold card.
The outbreak of the Raccoon City crisis was getting closer and closer. Eddie wasn't sure if it would happen as scheduled. But the Arklay Mountains were definitely unsafe; Marcus, who had become the Leech Queen, was not yet dead. Dr. William also refused Spencer's renewed proposal for the G-Virus sharing plan. All of this was a hidden danger for the crisis outbreak.
"Alright, I understand. I'll look for a suitable place," Jill took the gold card, still a bit dazed. She had absolutely no intention of becoming a mother; things had happened too suddenly, and she had to adapt to this new identity as quickly as possible.
"Wow! How romantic, he's even giving her a house!" Rebecca made an exaggerated gesture from the side, though she was secretly a little envious. Don't women just want to find a man they like?
"If you're envious, you can have one too! I'll ask Eddie to get you a house!" Jill teased, whether intentionally or not, a playful, all-knowing smile always in her beautiful eyes.
"Oh, Jill, you're so mean, making fun of me! I'm not playing with you anymore!" Rebecca lowered her head, a little shy.
Chapter 51 Do you want the G-Virus?
Raccoon City, on the brink of crisis, was definitely a living hell. Moreover, intelligence from Alex indicated that the French Branch had already sent the latest Nemesis Project product to Raccoon City to claim credit.
That was undoubtedly Nemesis, who hunted members of the S.T.A.R.S., a bioweapon even more terrifying than a Tyrant!
With Jill having his child, Eddie felt even greater pressure. He had to reap more benefits before Raccoon City was destroyed.
In the Raccoon City laboratory, Eddie, having just finished his examination, was reviewing his results. He always felt that the serum might have some other effects that hadn't been investigated.
For this, he had examined Jill once and found no problems; the child was also normal, with no deformities. This reassured Eddie greatly; his biggest fear was that the serum would cause genetic changes, leading to deformed children, which would be troublesome.
Tap, tap, tap. Annette walked into the laboratory in high heels, her hands in her pockets. "What are you looking at?"
"The examination results. After we used the serum, I found a strange problem, but I don't know what's going on. I want to examine it first and see the results. The ones who used the serum are you, me, and Jill." Eddie moved aside, and they both looked at the results.
Strength, speed, and reaction had all greatly increased, which was a clear sign of success. Annette was a user herself and knew what was going on.
"I don't think there's a problem. It's just that appetite increases, and I've also had myself checked. Women's specific gynecological issues have also disappeared. The serum mainly repairs damage, and the increase in strength isn't significant. The experiment you did this afternoon, using T-Virus, can indeed treat cancer, but it requires further research," Annette extended her right hand and tapped a few keys on the keyboard, offering her opinion.
"Both Jill's and my strength and speed have increased a lot. As for recovery, Jill's is faster than mine; mine is much slower," Eddie pondered.
His bodyguard, Svetlana, was reading in the next room. The experiments here could not be revealed to her yet, unless she was confirmed to be on their side.
Annette's expression became very strange after seeing a certain data point. "You just said your girlfriend is having pregnancy symptoms?"
"That's right, just checked today. I've looked at it; all her data is normal, and the baby is also normal," Eddie nodded. The so-called three-month wait for a check-up was only because there were no professional instruments.
"Then it's not strange. You'll be very good at having children in the future," Annette said blandly.
What kind of enhancement is this? Good at having children? Is that an advantage or a disadvantage?
"Why do you always bring that woman next door with you? What benefit can she provide you?" Annette turned and asked, very puzzled by this.
"She's a bodyguard Alex found for me, and a trustworthy woman. But I think she seems to have other ambitions. We can cooperate for now; other things can be discussed later," Eddie didn't avoid Annette and expressed his thoughts.
"Just be careful yourself. Oh, right, when you have time, go see Sherry. You need to find a way to send her to a safe place. I'm very worried about her safety," Annette said with concern. As a mother, she felt like a failure, rarely spending time with her daughter, immersed in experiments.
"No problem, I'll go find her. Jill will also be leaving Raccoon City, so they can go together. I'll find Sergei, and then I can legitimately take Sherry away. You don't need to worry about this," Eddie had already thought of a plan and knew how to proceed.
"Please, take good care of Sherry for me," Annette said solemnly.
"What about you? What are your plans?" Eddie suddenly asked.
"I still need to stay and research the perfect vaccine for the G-Virus. If there's a vaccine, the G-Virus won't be so terrifying," Annette sighed. The poison was powerful, but the antidote was also formidable. If a Tyrant were injected with a T-vaccine, it could practically be declared annihilated.
"We're friends, right? I want to ask something, please don't mind," Eddie asked tentatively.
"Go ahead," Annette said blandly. As long as it wasn't a private matter, she was willing to answer.
"Did William agree to Spencer's G-Virus sharing plan?" Eddie suddenly asked. This was a crucial matter. If he agreed, there might not be a Raccoon City crisis later. If he didn't agree, then they needed to be careful.
Annette shook her head. "I don't know. I haven't spoken to William in a long time. In my opinion, he wouldn't agree. He's very arrogant and proud."
"Then you might be in danger. You'd best be careful. You know Umbrella has its own mobile forces," Eddie reminded her. Annette still had a significant role to play later on.
"I know. I've come to terms with life and death," Annette said indifferently. She was very lost now, having lost her life's goal, excluded by William from G-Virus research. She could only research vaccines to have something to do.
"Don't say that. If something happens to you, what about your daughter? You have to live. I have a plan. I want to set up my own research laboratory, and I need your help. Are you willing to help me?" Eddie suddenly proposed a plan.
Annette's heart stirred. "You need my help? What are you planning to do?"
"This ship, Umbrella, is about to sink. Spencer's shares are getting lower and lower, and various branches are having problems. I have a hunch that if we're going to run, we should run quickly. Besides, I have a grudge against Spencer. And do you know what my goal is?" Eddie said with a hearty laugh.
"What is it?" Annette was a little moved; she didn't know what to do.
"Besides seeking revenge on Spencer, I want to create a true serum, a serum that can truly achieve immortality! Are you willing to believe me, willing to help me?" Eddie's eyes fixed on Annette's.
Annette felt a little embarrassed under his gaze, lowering her head and saying, "If you want my help, I can help you."
"Then don't be so eager to die. There are still many beautiful things waiting for you in life," Eddie said with a smile, handing her a cup of coffee.
"Hmph! I won't think about dying. Don't worry, Annette always keeps her promises. Do you need G-Virus data and samples? I can get them for you," Annette suddenly perked up, perhaps testing him.
"What if I say I need them? Would you be angry?" Eddie probed. To say he didn't want them would be a lie. T-Virus was the foundation, G-Virus was the material for building a tall building; both were very much needed.
Annette suddenly curled into a'so that's it' smile. Of course not.
