Chapter 33 - 33

Chapter 52: Annette and Sherry Birkin

Annette covered her smile with her elegant hand, exuding a mature charm. "Alright, I'm not testing you. I know you're not coveting the G-Virus. I'm serious, do you want the G-Virus?"

"Of course I want it, but why are you asking like that? I always feel like you're going to do something foolish! Annette, don't be silly. It wasn't easy for me to strengthen you, so don't do anything foolish," Eddie said nervously.

"Pfft!" Annette suddenly broke into a radiant smile. "Why are you so nervous? How could I do something foolish? Don't worry, I'm not that silly."

"Alright, I'll take the G-Virus. I want the data and samples, and I want you too!" Eddie said proudly. He needed Annette to help him with his research; Alex had also praised Annette's genetic research endlessly.

Annette rolled her eyes coquettishly. "You're really greedy! Alright, since there's nothing else, I'll be going. Remember to pick up Sherry."

"Wait, shouldn't we go together? We can explain things then," Eddie suggested.

"I can't do anything with you. Alright, let's go now. She should be out of school," Annette said, glancing at her watch. It seemed her heart had unburdened, and she had become much more cheerful.

At Raccoon City Middle School, Eddie sat in the driver's seat, with Annette, now in casual clothes, in the passenger seat. As they arrived near the middle school, they heard a bell ring, signaling the end of the school day.

Before long, a vibrant and sunny young girl walked out, carrying her school bag. Annette rolled down the car window and waved at the girl.

The girl quickly ran over, "Mom!"

"Sherry, get in the car first!" Annette said with a gentle smile.

"Eddie, this is my daughter, Sherry. Sherry, this is my colleague, Eddie!" Annette introduced them.

Sherry smiled sweetly, "Hello, Uncle Eddie!"

Eddie paused for a moment, then waved his hand and said, "Hello, beautiful. Sherry, let's discuss something. You can just call me Eddie from now on. Don't call me 'uncle.' I'm actually only eighteen!"

Sherry was stunned. The man in front of her was only a few years older than her? That was too exaggerated. "Really?"

Annette was also surprised for a moment, then nodded and said, "He's right, Sherry. Mommy has some things to be busy with recently and needs to send you somewhere else to live temporarily. I'm sorry, Mommy is really busy. After this period, Mommy will definitely come to find you."

Sherry was very surprised and a little sad. She rarely spent time with her parents, and now she had to go far away again, not knowing how long she would have to stay.

"Hey, Sherry, don't be sad. There really are things to do. Your mom is also worried about your safety. My girlfriend also has to leave Raccoon City to rest somewhere else. You can keep her company. When we're done, I'll go with your mom to find you, and maybe your mom will even take you to an amusement park then. Can you do that?" Eddie said with a smile.

Sherry's sadness instantly vanished, and her eyes lit up. "Really, Mom?"

Annette hesitated for a moment, then turned her head, looking at her daughter with determined eyes. "Yes, Sherry, give Mommy some time. When I'm done, I'll come find you and take you to the amusement park. Can you give Mommy some time?"

Sherry nodded firmly. "Of course! I'm willing to wait for Mommy. Mommy works hard."

"Alright, two beauties, we need to go back. You can go back and chat slowly," Eddie smiled. Ensuring Sherry's safety would allow Annette to focus on her work wholeheartedly.

Arriving at Sergei's office again, Eddie pushed the door open and walked straight in. Whoosh! A flying knife quickly flew over. Eddie stopped, and the flying knife directly embedded itself in the door.

Without looking, one knew this flying knife was Sergei's exclusive weapon. "What are you doing here? Why didn't you knock?"

"Didn't I just forget? Uncle Sergei, you received my research and experimental data, right? I told you T-Virus is the most powerful, absolutely incomparable to the G-Virus!" Eddie began to find common ground.

Sergei's expression softened considerably. He actually detested subordinates who didn't follow rules. "I received it, and it's not bad. The Chairman is very satisfied. This project will be handed over to other branches for research, and your bonus will be deposited into your card. Do you have anything else?"

"I want a sample of the G-Virus!" Eddie suddenly blurted out.

"Oh? Why? Isn't the G-Virus inferior to T-Virus?" Sergei was curious and a little disgusted; all other serums besides T-Virus were garbage.

"Even the most useless things have their uses. The G-Virus can assist T-Virus in creating a stronger serum!" Eddie expressed his idea.

"William hasn't completed the G-Virus yet, so it's useless for you to ask for it now," Sergei suddenly said.

"How do you know?" Eddie asked subconsciously.

"Hehe, there's nothing Umbrella doesn't know," Sergei's expression became very arrogant and proud. This was intelligence gathered by his reconnaissance agents.

"I need insurance. Annette cares a lot about her daughter, and so does William. I'll find a way to take their daughters away. That way, it can serve as insurance," Eddie suddenly said.

"Aren't you on very good terms with Annette?" Sergei took out his knives again and began to fiddle with them.

"No friends, only interests. Whoever gives me enough benefits, I'll work for them. I need Uncle Spencer to help me find out who is impersonating Uncle Marcus and causing trouble. If I find out, I'll definitely kill that guy," Eddie's eyes were icy cold.

"How interesting. I agree. If there's nothing else, you can leave. I need to go to the Executive Training Center. Whoever is causing trouble, I will root them out!" Sergei said indifferently.

As an adapter of T-Virus, Sergei's combat power was extremely strong, and the serum also affected him, sometimes making him very bloodthirsty. The sharp, strange knives were almost always in his hand, indicating he was constantly restraining his violent tendencies. Now that there was an opportunity for a good fight, he didn't want to deploy any other mobile units.

"Alright, I just need money." Eddie casually took a bottle of what looked like vintage red wine, quickly dodged Sergei's flying knife, and slipped away.

Sergei was amused. This Eddie was really interesting. He hoped it wouldn't come to the last step, otherwise, no matter how interesting or talented the other party was, if Spencer said he had to die, Sergei would kill Eddie without hesitation!

Sergei was going to find Marcus, who was made up of the Leech Queen? It seemed very interesting. He wondered how the battle would turn out?

Eddie had no interest in going along. When immortals fight, mortals suffer. He didn't want to be like Sergei, who not only had immense personal strength, capable of punching through a thirty-centimeter-thick steel plate,

but also had two intelligent Ivan-type Tyrants as bodyguards who knew how to use weapons. Forget going to the Arklay Mountains to find Marcus; even if he swaggered back and forth, those infected monsters couldn't possibly harm him!

Chapter 53: Excella Wants to Cooperate!

Back downstairs, Eddie was about to return to the apartment to discuss upcoming matters with Jill, and he also needed to tell her about Sherry. Unexpectedly, he received a call. "Hello, who is this?"

"It's me, Excella, Mr. Eddie. Do you have time? I'd like to talk to you," Excella said softly. It was truly surprising that she had called him proactively.

"Tell me the place and time," Eddie asked directly.

"In my hotel room, right now," Excella had no choice; to discuss confidential matters, it could only be done in a room.

"Alright, I'll be there in a moment," Eddie suddenly smiled. The prey had taken the bait!

Ten minutes later, Eddie arrived at the grand hotel, which was where Tricell was staying. With an unlimited expense account for their business trip, they naturally chose a good place to stay.

Excella proactively opened the door and invited Eddie in. "Hello, Mr. Eddie, I'm glad you could come."

Eddie waved his hand, took out a cigarette, and lit it with a match. "Just say what you need to say. Let's not waste time."

Excella was indeed a strong woman; even in her room, she still wore eight-centimeter high heels. "I want to cooperate with you to develop your project. You're a researcher, and I have good connections in the business world. I can help you sell your research results. What do you think?"

"I remember the Travis Family is very exclusive. What resources do you have now?" Eddie suddenly asked a very pointed question.

Excella seemed to recall something, feeling very displeased. "I have a trading company, and my grandmother is a powerful elder in the Travis Family. She will arrange for me to work in the pharmaceutical department, serving as a research director."

"That's not enough, far from enough. I'm also a department director, and I have many researchers under me. What makes you think you're qualified to cooperate with me?" Eddie scoffed.

"I have my connections. If you want to sell something, dealing with people is unavoidable, and that would leave you no time for research. You don't want other trivial matters to waste your time, do you? I can handle these annoying trivialities for you!" Excella wanted to prove her worth.
