Chapter 34 - 34

"That's not enough. We need better platforms and resources." Eddie shook his head.

"What do you mean?" Excella felt her heart rate quicken. Subconsciously, she sensed this was an opportunity—a life-changing chance. If she didn't want to be a puppet, relying on this man was clearly a good choice.

"First, you should know what will happen if my project continues?" Eddie asked.

Excella frowned, "It cures cancer!"

Eddie nodded, "Exactly. That's just one aspect. What I aim to achieve is to become a New Human, one who is immune to disease, can slow down or even stop aging, and possesses such a long life!"

Excella felt as if the man in front of her was a madman, yet for some reason, she found herself somewhat believing such an absurd idea. The truth was, there were almost no drugs that could cure cancer; he was the only one! "Are you kidding me?"

"You have a master's in genetics; you should know the characteristics of cancer cells!" Eddie continued to ask.

"Infinite division, impossible to eradicate!" Excella said directly.

"Exactly. Normal cells have a limited number of divisions. Once that limit is reached, humans begin to age and head towards death. What if I had a way to make cells evolve, to become like cancer cells, capable of infinite division? And without any side effects? What do you think would happen?" Eddie suddenly smiled like a demon.

"Immortal New Humans!" Excella exclaimed, losing her voice. If it were truly possible, immortality wouldn't be a dream; it would be scientifically plausible and highly achievable.

"Are you serious?" Excella then asked.

"Yes, I already have a lead, and we are young enough to develop it. Life is long, and immortality can be very lonely. Having a few friends around won't make one feel alone. Do you think you have a chance to become my friend?" Eddie laughed heartily. This was a choice with no other option.

Anyone with a bit of knowledge would know that such a theoretical concept is simply impossible to achieve. But this isn't the old world; it's the Resident Evil world! Anything is possible. If even the impossible T-Virus exists, what is eternal life?

"What do you need me to do, Mr. Eddie? Please tell me." Excella lowered her noble head. She seemed to have finally met a man who could make her look at him with new eyes. Immortality might have been something she'd scoffed at before, but after the afternoon's experiment, she knew it was all possible.

Eddie stood up and effortlessly lifted the five-hundred-pound solid wood desk with one hand. "You see, this is power, this is new life!"

Whoosh! Using a burst of speed, he quickly returned to his seat, almost making her eyes blur. Excella was increasingly shocked. This man had so many secrets hidden. This power… she knew it was formidable. This was the man she had been waiting for!

"You're not very well-regarded at Tricell, are you, unless you marry into one of those families?" Eddie said mockingly.

"Impossible. I would never accept a man weaker than me. Those men are all foolish, utterly idiotic, drunken wastes!" Excella shook her head. She couldn't accept such a reality.

"So we need to find a way to improve your status at Tricell and get more resources," Eddie analyzed.

"Impossible, unless I can bring in huge, exclusive economic benefits. Otherwise, those good-for-nothings won't relinquish power. They only care about pure bloodlines and rely on the occasional talent to maintain things, along with complex interpersonal relationships. This is also why the Travis Family was surpassed by Umbrella," Excella revealed her family's shortcomings without reservation.

"Look at this first." Eddie suddenly pulled up a video, filmed during a mission in the Arklay Mountains.

The various Zombies, monsters, Zombie Dogs, and other creatures in the video made Excella a little scared. "What is this?"

"Brand new bio-weapons, made using T-Virus. They're cheaper than firearms and very effective. What you're seeing are defective products; the most basic result is a Zombie. There are even better products that haven't been shown yet. If you sell these bio-weapons under Tricell's name, what do you think will happen?!" Eddie laughed cruelly.

"We'll make a lot, lot of money! And this stuff can continue to be developed, creating even stronger weapons. The funds from those sales can then be reinvested into our research!" Excella's beautiful eyes gleamed with excitement.

Chapter 54: Ada's Warning!

"Don't you think doing this is a bit cruel?" Eddie asked with a playful smile, wanting to see what kind of woman Excella truly was.

Excella shook her head, "No. We are only responsible for sales. As for what the buyers want to do with them, we have no way of knowing. It's none of our business; we are just merchants!" She then blinked her beautiful eyes, looking a little innocently charming.

"Alright, we can cooperate. Congratulations on becoming my partner." Eddie extended his hand.

Excella also extended her delicate hand and shook his. "Thank you, Dr. Eddie. I believe you won't regret your choice. Do you need me to do anything?"

"Don't rush for now. I have some new drugs that I'll give you to research. You can then sell the drugs and start showcasing your pharmaceutical talent. Once I'm ready on my end, you can begin selling those bio-weapons. Umbrella hasn't fallen yet; now is not the time," Eddie said calmly.

"Dr. Eddie seems to be very good at business!" Excella exclaimed with admiration.

"I know a little here and there. Alright, I'll contact you if anything comes up." Eddie stood up, preparing to leave.

"Take care, Dr. Eddie. I will make you believe in me." Excella found new motivation. She wanted to prove herself, prove her knowledge, and also wanted the man in front of her to worship and submit to her, hailing her as a queen, just like the men before him!

"One more thing, just call me by my name from now on. No need for 'Doctor' or anything; that's for outsiders," Eddie waved his hand and left.

"Outsiders? Eddie, are you considering me one of your own?" A hint of triumph flashed in Excella's beautiful eyes.

"Don't misunderstand, I'm just treating you as a partner!" Eddie added, he didn't need to flatter women.

The cooperation with Excella would be at least a few months away, and before that, Eddie still needed to plan a few things. A proud woman wouldn't cooperate with him so easily. Eddie didn't think he had Wesker's charisma; he was just an ordinary person.

He had to find a way to crush Excella's self-esteem, to make her desperate enough to come to him for cooperation. Only then could he gain the upper hand. Otherwise, a partner with ulterior motives wouldn't last long.

Paving the way with money, Eddie quickly completed the maternity leave procedures for Jill. He also extended the leave to one year, with full pay during the period.

He used a helicopter to send Jill and Sherry away from Raccoon City. Jill had ample experience and could ensure her own safety. Morning sickness only appeared for the first two days; now, Jill wasn't as weak as typical pregnant women, but rather quite energetic.

"I'm entrusting Sherry to your care. I'll come find you after a while. Sherry, would you also please help me take care of Jill?" Eddie saw Jill off at the airport.

Sherry smiled sweetly, "Okay, Eddie, I'll help! Jill is a very nice person."

"Eddie, be careful in everything!" Jill didn't say much, simply giving her boyfriend a pure blessing.

The intelligent and perceptive Jill knew that her boyfriend was about to take action against Umbrella. This seemingly powerful organization wouldn't be easily defeated. If she weren't pregnant, Jill would definitely help her boyfriend. Now, she needed to rest and give birth to their little baby.

Back in Raccoon City, Eddie returned to his villa in the Arklay Mountains. A charming and elegant woman in a red qipao was sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee. It was Ada, who had been investigating in Raccoon City!

"Sent your little lover away?" Ada teased.

"Do you need something from me?" Eddie didn't take the bait. If he did, he would be led by the nose. While Aunt Wang was quite good, Eddie wasn't interested in being a simp.

"I need T-Virus samples. Can you get them for me? Pure samples!" Ada's expression became incredibly serious.

"Yes, but your goal is probably not just the T-Virus, is it? What can you get?" Eddie smiled, lit a cigarette. He liked to have one whenever he felt anxious, to calm himself down.

"The T-Virus is just one of my missions. There are other things I need to collect. If the situation allows, I even want more comprehensive bio-weapon data and combat statistics!" Ada elegantly sipped her coffee.

"What benefits did the Simmons Family give you to do this?" Eddie suddenly asked.

"Money and knowledge. Aren't mercenaries just after money?" Ada smiled.

"You've seen the power of those bio-weapons, but you don't know what all this is for, do you? Interested in hearing a story?" Eddie smiled.

"Sure, I'd like to hear what story you can tell!" Ada suddenly became interested, swinging her burgundy high heels and leaning in to listen.

"These bio-weapons are all made from the T-Virus. Some are directly manufactured, others are infected due to serum leakage. Regardless of how they're made, their power is immense. As you've seen, this serum has a very promising future," Eddie smiled.

Ada nodded, "I know. I've looked into it. The ultimate product of the T-Virus is the Tyrant series. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a true Tyrant series product yet. Have you?"

"Of course I have. Actually, the T-Virus wasn't developed to create these bio-weapons. These are just byproducts. The true purpose is to enhance human physiological functions, to achieve the effect of prolonging life," Eddie's expression became very serious.

Ada was willing to believe this fact. "I know. Is your story finished? It doesn't seem very captivating!"
