When the outer disciples arrived in front of her, she asked, "Is there a curfew? If there is, when will the Residential Wing be closed?"
The outer disciples were mesmerized by her beauty, leaving them speechless after a while. The outer disciple on the left was the first one to break out from his reverie and replied with a bow:
"Y-Yes, there is. The Residential Wing will be closed at 10 pm, but it only applies to outer disciples. If an inner disciple goes past that, they have a hidden path that leads to the upper floor. Do you want me to show you?"
Krisha nodded. She pointed at Felix and said, "Yes, please show it to the gentleman right here. He plans to train outside overnight."
Felix shook his head and asked while gobbling the foods, "Weyn dath da meyn doth owens?"
Krisha rolled her eyes. "Finish your food first."
The outer disciple, for some reason, understood Felix's words. Not planning to be hostile to him, unlike the other inner disciples had, he politely replied him:
"The main door opens by 4am. The outer disciples are required to jog and do some light exercise until 6am."
Krisha's eyebrows raised. "Why are the inner disciples not included?"
"It's not mandatory for them, unlike us. They had already graduated from that and I assumed that light exercise would barely progress their physique at all. Instead, most of the inner disciples practiced with our sword technique either inside their room or outside by sparring others."
Krisha grinned at Felix. "A perfect place for you, then."
Felix remained quiet as he finished gobbling the foods.
…
After the dinner, Krisha and Felix parted ways.
Felix asked about where PengPeng was and she replied that PengPeng was already settling on his beast quarter, having dinner at the same time as them.
She was planning to bring him out of his beast quarter to meditate and then returned him to his place to sleep.
Krisha admitted it was difficult to be away from her beast pet even for a bit, but she knew she had to set some boundaries.
Felix, on the other hand, planned to exercise outside until five minutes before the curfew and then spend the next hours writing Krisha's sword arts before sleeping.
Krisha suggested writing her sword arts online, even planning as far as providing him a laptop, yet Felix rejected firmly. He was already accustomed to writing by hand and he believed he could express his emotions profoundly by writing.
Albeit, he wrote slowly and his handwriting was bad—way bad he once thought if it was a foreshadowing to become a medical doctor, instead.
At the moment, Felix had just left the Residential Wing and searched for a perfect place to train.
It must be isolated, difficult for others to stumble by chance, and spacious enough for him to perform his exercise.
The ground must be, not perfectly, flat.
After dozens of minutes of searching, he finally found the perfect place—behind the Residential Wing, where trees and bushes were abundant.
Grasping the wooden sword from his room, Felix traversed through bushes, branches scattered through the ground, and finally found a grassy place spacious enough for him to exercise.
Then, for the next hours, forgetting to bring his water, Felix exhausted himself through the supplementary mortal exercises of the Rainwalker Style.
He dropped his butt to the floor and checked the time through his watch. His watch also showed his heart beat rate, reaching up to 200 bpm.
There was still fifteen minutes away from the curfew, so he had enough time to meditate to slow down his dangerous heart beat rate.
After ten minutes, he felt he had finally cooled down, so he stood up and returned to his room.
…
When Felix returned to his room, he was chatting with the Guide as he took a cold bath.
"Come to think of it, why did I not ascend to Awakener Rank 3? I exercised longer than yesterday night."
[Obviously, the higher the rank, the more demanding it is. Do you want me to give you how much exercise you need to reach Awakener Rank 3?]
Felix nodded as he submerged his body more into the bathtub inside his room.
"Please do."
[Alright. I'm adding another feature to your status.]
Felix then saw a wall of text appearing in front of him.
[Summoner: Felix Hill
Rank: Awakener Rank 2
Exp: 1/5
Contracted Weapon: Flowing Rain Sword (Rare Tier 1) {Summoned}
Skills: Drizzle Slash Lv. 1, Pattering Step Lv. 1
Contract Limit: 1/1.]
Felix's eyes widened. His heart skipped a beat. "Five exercises? Isn't it supposed to be two multiplied two times from the Awakener Rank 1?"
[The host should not forget that it's called Exp for a reason. It means experience. In other words, you can raise it not only through exercise but from the experience you gain from the sword technique through fighting against others.
The Awakener Rank 2 only needed one exercise because it also considered your enlightenment from learning the raindrop meditation which is also the core of your cultivation.]
Felix heaved a sigh of relief. "I see, why did you not tell me before? You said you'd only show me how much exercise I need to reach Awakener Rank 3."
[I was about to explain, Host, but you reacted way too quickly.]
Felix chuckled in embarrassment.
He remained submerged in the cold bath tub for five minutes more before finally proceeding to his writing desk.
The writing desk already has five empty notebooks for him to write. There was also a note there, saying that if he wanted more notebooks, well, he must buy it for himself in the store.
As Felix sat while wearing pajamas, he grabbed the quill—one that was expensive and automatic, not needing any ink to dampen the point—and began writing the first page.
He wrote the title and sub-title of the sword art for Krisha.
"Frozen Vein Sword Art."
"Stillness that kills."
