Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Miss Glutton

"I suspect you're messing with me," Leticia said viciously to Melanie, both of them wearing the same expression of world-weary resignation.

"That's right." Melanie actually nodded quite naturally, admitting it.

"I'll freaking kill you!" Leticia, exasperated and furious, flailed her small fists and lunged at Melanie.

Facing the oncoming pink fists, Melanie calmly reached out and caught Leticia's fist effortlessly. "Be good."

"Get lost!"

"Haha, the relationship between Sister and Quinn is really good." On the side, Yori suddenly felt like she was a third wheel; she gave a couple of dry laughs and said to the two girls, "The clothes are all settled, how about we go eat barbecue now?"

Having lingered in that clothing store for nearly three hours, Melanie had waved her hand and ordered over a dozen sets of clothes, making the shop assistants' eyes light up so much they looked like they wanted to pounce on Melanie's legs and shout, "Rich lady, take care of me!"

These dozen or so sets of clothes included three sets for Leticia, which was Melanie's insistent demand.

"When the clothes arrive, I'll come over to your house to take a look," Melanie said to Leticia after paying.

The implication was that she would force Leticia to try on all those outfits.

To this, Leticia responded with a silent 'mmp' in her heart.

Why did she have to wear those kinds of clothes? Why!

Without a doubt, those clothes would definitely be skirts, and Leticia's most hated type of clothing was skirts.

Not to mention that spider spirit had smiled at her at the end and said, "By the way, I'll give you the matching socks for the outfits as a gift."

Socks? Leticia had already guessed what kind of socks those 'gifts' would be.

"Are we roasting Melanie's meat? Then I'm somewhat interested," Leticia squeezed out a cold voice through gritted teeth.

Yori laughed awkwardly, taking it as Quinn's tacit agreement.

"Then let's go to that famous Minotaur Barbecue shop. I heard the raw ingredients for their barbecue are high-grade cattle imported from the Beastman Race's grasslands, the taste is much, much better than the beef we have here."

"Okay." Melanie gripped Leticia's wrist to prevent this girl, who was already fuming with rage, from doing anything irrational.

Seeing her sister's hand tightly gripping Leticia's wrist, Yori showed an 'I knew it' expression.

Sister only denied her relationship with Quinn last night, and yet today they're holding hands. She really says one thing and does another.

And although Quinn acted very resistant, her struggle wasn't that intense, which made Yori subconsciously think that Leticia still had some feelings for Melanie.

Little did she know, hidden beneath the calm exterior was an extremely fierce clash.

Melanie's Sword Qi and Leticia's Demonic Qi were battling violently at the point where their bodies touched; it was precisely for this reason that the atmosphere between Melanie and Leticia appeared so harmonious.

It wasn't until Yori led the two of them to the front of the barbecue shop that they stopped their struggle.

In a pure competition of energy, neither could suppress the other. Although Leticia felt it was a bit taxing, she could still hold out.

"You're still as annoying as ever," Leticia said out of the blue, rubbing her slightly bruised purple wrist.

Melanie stared blankly at her still fair palm and slowly nodded. "You too."

This back-and-forth exchange made Yori even more convinced of her guess. Look at the way these two talk—only a fool would believe there's nothing between them!

Seemingly because it wasn't yet official lunch time, there were very few customers in the barbecue shop, and the three girls easily found an empty seat to sit down.

The waiter brought over the menu. Looking at the dazzling array of items on the menu, Yori's eyes gradually turned into swirly patterns.

What the hell is this 'French Sweet and Sour Tomato Slices with Buttered Egg Crumbs'!

"Geez, isn't that just stir-fried tomatoes and eggs? Making it sound so high-end," Leticia leaned over to look and said somewhat speechlessly.

"Ahem, at least it sounds a lot classier than'stir-fried tomatoes and eggs', right?" The waiter was quite young and naturally picked up on Leticia's complaint.

"The price is a lot higher too."

"Got to make money, after all."

While Leticia was complaining to the guy about the names and pricing of the dishes on the menu, the dazed Yori had already picked out what she wanted to eat.

After handing the menu to Melanie, Yori suddenly remembered that they seemed to have multi-person set meals here.

"How about we order a three-person set meal?" she suggested.

"With your sister's appetite, she could finish a three-person set meal by herself," Leticia voiced her objection, fearing she wouldn't get to eat what she wanted with a set meal.

Melanie's face turned imperceptibly red. The amount of food she needed to consume daily was indeed quite large, and the breakfast her sister had made this morning according to a normal girl's appetite had not filled her up at all.

In other words, she was... a little hungry now.

But for a girl, having a large appetite didn't seem like a good description.

"I only need this one portion..."

"Don't be shy, it's not good to mistreat yourself." Before Melanie could finish, Leticia snatched the menu from her hand and quickly checked off several more staple dishes.

After finishing the order, she gave a 'don't mention it' smile to Melanie, who was already starting to clench her fists.
