Elara was still in bed when her phone rang. The number was unknown. She checked the time. Six thirty in the morning. Who in their right mind would call her so early? Nevertheless, she picked up the phone.
"Hello? Who is this?" Elara muttered, still groggy.
"Hey, Elara, it's Julien. Julien Armand," said the voice on the other end of the line.
"Julien?" Elara jolted fully awake. "How did you get my number? And why are you calling me?"
"I got your number from Lydia's phone. We're in the hospital right now."
Elara threw off the covers and jumped out of bed. "What? The hospital? What happened?"
"Lydia collapsed. She has a high fever. We're at the hospital."
"What? How? You know what, never mind. Tell me where you are right now!" said Elara as she rummaged through her bag, looking for her car keys.
"We're in Castelune General Hospital. It's the only hospital in town. You should find it easily."
"Okay, I'll be there soon." Elara found her keys and ended the call.
