[3rd POV]
Yeah, Billie did indeed get her. Haley had been absorbed into the story the second Darth Vader had appeared on the screen, and Billie had to bite back a laugh as she heard her girlfriend gasp when Obi Wan died.
The girl was basically leaning forward in anticipation towards the end, as she watched Luke race across the stars to blow up the Death Star, and end the tyranny of the Empire. Well, for a time at least.
She watched it all, her amusement clear, but also her warmth.
She was very very happy to see that her girlfriend had actually given the movie a chance, and was truly enjoying it. That was something she was really hoping for. As besides their join love of music and areas surrounding it, they didn't really talk about movies or games very often.
She had a feeling they would after this.
'I'll have to introduce Star Trek to her soon too' Billie decided inwardly, as Star Trek was yet another series that she adored. She loved Next Generation the most (like most people from what she knew), with Picard and Riker. Her personal favorite in that show was Deanna Troi.
She had a giant crush on her when she was younger in her past life. Something about that woman was just so...sexy.
...Anyways, towards the end of the movie, Billie had noticed that the girl was beginning to get a little tired. She knew her girlfriend enough to know that Haley had almost certainly stayed up late that night, probably stressing over Billie and what had gone down with her music video for her grandmama.
That or she was practicing her album. It was one of the two. Honestly, it was probably a mixture of the two.
By the time the movie had ended, with the award ceremony closing it off, Haley had yawned several times, as she rubbed her eyes, clearly tired as she turned, only to find her girlfriend staring at her with a look of concern in her eyes.
"Billie? Why're you staring at me like that for?" Haley asked, confused.
"Are you okay, babe?" Billie responded with her own question. She was genuinely concerned for her. She was used to not sleeping for that long, but Haley was not. And she really did not want Haley to get sick because she stayed up all night working on her album.
"Yeah, why do you ask?" Haley asked, as she climbed off of the hood a few moments later, Billie hopping off a second later.
"Because you look tired. Or more like exhausted" Billie responded with a serious glint in her eyes, concern clear in her tone.
Haley flinched at her look of worry.
"I-I'm fine. I just stayed up a little late last night, that's all. I was busy working on the album and then yo-that was it" Haley replied, stopping herself from saying anything else.
Billie could tell that she was going to say something about her music video, causing her to narrow her eyes.
"Hales, I'm serious, how much sleep did you actually get last night?" Billie asked with narrowed eyes, as she called her girlfriend by one of her few nicknames she had been given at this point.
Haley looked to the side, only to still when she felt Billie softly turn her head towards her, a finger underneath her chin. Seeing the worry on Billie's face, Haley bit her lip before sighing and responding.
"I haven't slept yet" Haley whispered in response. Billie's eyes widened the moment she heard that, as that meant she had been up for like...36 hours!
"Jesus Haley! You can't stay up for that long, it's not healthy! And you know it's bad when even I don't do that, and I'm known for not sleeping that much" Billie exclaimed in genuine shock.
She had been expecting like 19 or 20 hours without sleep, but 36? That was way beyond her guess, and was genuinely terrible for you.
"I know I know, but...I just couldn't fall asleep. Between me working on my album and the song you made, the worry I felt for you after that...I just...I couldn't stop worrying about if you were actually okay, if you were going to do something stupid" Haley said.
Billie breathed out at the words, realizing that she was a part of the problem.
"Baby, look at me" Billie said, looking at Haley who had been glancing away from her, guilty that she was now making Billie worried too.
Haley slowly turned, her reddened exhausted eyes staring into Billie's own concern filled ones.
"You don't need to worry about me, okay? I'd never ever do something stupid, not what you are thinking at least. And I don't ever want to see you doing something like this again, do you hear me? I don't want my girlfriend to get sick from doing this. Or even worse, staying up for that long and then driving or something" Billie said, giving her a stern and yet loving look.
"And you have tons of time to do your album. You don't need to work around the clock to make it, not when you have me here to help you. Stressing yourself out over it will only make it harder for you to make the album up to your standards" Billie continued, as Haley looked down, guilty as she heard the serious concern on Billie's face.
It was rare to see her girlfriend this worried about something.
"I love you, Haley. And I really really don't want to hear you doing something like that again, okay?" Billie softly said, her hand softly stroking her girlfriends cheek as Haley locked eyes with her and nodded.
"O-Okay, I-I'm sorry babe" Haley said, as she felt Billie's lips softly lock with her own.
"It's okay, Hales" Billie leaned back, as she started the car up, before turning to Haley.
"How about you stay the night with me? We can just cuddle up in my bed and sleep in comfort without having to worry about your parents waking you up or your siblings" Billie offered.
"...I'd love to, but I'm more sure if my mom will let-" "She just said it's okay" Billie said, cutting off her girlfriend as she lifted her phone, showing that she had been texting Claire during the talk.
Hearing this, Haley blinked as she looked at the text, and indeed, her mother had said it was okay. Billie didn't actually explain why Haley wanted to stay the night, only that she did want to. Claire had accepted, but not before warning her against getting up to any "Funny business".
She had gotten a "Yes Ma'am" in response.
Haley snorted at this part of the texts, before Billie put her phone back down.
"See, you won't need to worry about your family. You can come home with me and cuddle up and get some much needed sleep"
"...Alright, I guess if my mom said it's okay, then there is no way I can pass up on staying the night with my girlfriend" Haley replied with a small smile forming on her face, realizing that her parents had gotten even more accepting of Billie.
She suspected it was thanks to what had occurred the previous day, and the way she was kind to everyone.
"Good, and maybe tomorrow we can watch the next two movies in the Star Wars trilogy, if you'd like" Billie offered, only to laugh when she heard the fast and excited "YES!" From her girlfriend, who promptly blushed a moment later.
She likes Star Wars now.
"Well, looks like tomorrow will be a movie day too. But for now...lets just get back home first" Billie responded to her girlfriend, as she began to drive home, one thought on her mind.
'...Gonna need to keep an eye on Haley from now on, especially if she tries to do this again'
Billie would be watching her girlfriend closely.
Even closer than before.
