As we walked toward the main house of the Yotsuba Clan I realized something that had been bugging me since the orphanage that hadn't fully registered until now. Aoba the Butler mentioned Maya's uncle, Yotsuba Eisaku, as if he were still alive and in charge. That should not be possible as he died shortly after he started training Tatsuya. I guess changes caused by my existence have already happened, but I'm extremely confused on how my existence caused this. Oh well, whether I I figure it out or not doesn't matter or not... probably.
We were lead through the building, I felt uncomfortable like I was being judged. I probably was being judged though as Maya said as much earlier in the car. Still didn't make it any less unpleasant, but I tried not to let my discomfort show. Miya lead us to a room before excusing herself to go train Tatsuya. The room did not appear to be the study of the clan head, but rather his bedroom. Maya lead the way in and I followed. The room was about what you'd expect for the clan head of the Yotsuba, being fancy but not gaudy. On the bed lay my adoptive grandfather Yotsuba Eisaku... dying it seemed. Maya walked over to the bedside and I followed.
"It seems you still have some life in you yet uncle." Maya joked but there was a hint of sadness in her voice.
He was a stoic sharp featured man although there was a tired vibe surrounding him right now I was right it seems he's lived at most 3 years longer than he was in canon, as he died shortly after starting training Tatsuya to be a combat magician.
He looked at Maya I couldn't tell if he was unamused or if that was just his face.
"Who's the boy?" he said getting straight to the point, although he sounded strained as if it took effort to speak.
"He is my adopted son, Ryu Introduce yourself." said Maya
"I'm Ryu Yotsuba, I am honored to have the opportunity to join this family and help contribute to its greatness." I said with a slight bow.
Eisaku smirked, but you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking for it. He started coughing violently, when it stopped his breathing sounded more raged. He looked a Maya.
"I can see why you picked him. Good, get his calculation area measured and start his training as soon as you think he is ready. Maya you will do well once you take over the clan." he said he was now laboring to breath. he proceeded to weakly gesture as if to leave him.
Maya just looked at me and said "Let's go Ryu." I nodded and followed her out of the room.
Aoba was outside waiting. Maya looked at him.
"Take him be measured then prepare him a room near mine and show him to it. I have things i need to prepare." she ordered
"As you order mistress. Come along young master Ryu." said Aoba beginning to walk of in another direction.
I followed after him.
we walked for awhile. we didn't say anything i could tell Aoba didn't like me the servants of the Yotusba tended to not like outsiders. I think Haiyama was an exception but he viewed merit over blood plus after the 5 years in this world i barely remember anything worth while. I completely forgot the plot besides some cliff notes stuff and since everything might change only personalities are barely worth remembering. Not that i plan to follow the plot I'll end up where I end I have no real goal other than live my life. The silence between us was deafening. I didn't care after all with these people either they like you, you give them a reason to like you, or they just don't like you period.
We finally arrived at a pair of double doors that led to a lab area. They were apparently expecting me don't know how maybe aunt Miya informed them doesn't matter though really. They hooked me up to this chair thing and told me to sit still.
"Hmmm strange. we're having trouble getting a reading as if there is some form of interference." said the doctor
"Will it be a problem?" asked Aoba
"Let me try a few things first." said the doctor messing with a few buttons and levers and I could swear I even saw him try turning the computer off and on.
" Well I got good news and bad news. So the bad news we cannot accurately measure his magic calculation area. The good news is we can tell it the range its in. He has a strong calculation area but I wouldn't call it monstrous or genius level or anything like that." Explained the doctor
I had just walked over now that i had been allowed to get up.
"well let get you to your room I will go inform mistress Maya of the results" said Aoba leading me out of the lab area.
I endured another awkwardly silent walk with Aoba until we reached a room
"This will be your room, bare essentials have been placed. If you need something ask a servant mistress Maya will send someone, most likely me, to come get you later your things are already inside for you to get settled in." explained Aoba professionally
with that explanation out of the way i entered in the room and began unpacking
'So this is it then, well like they said things may or may not happen so lets plan for the worst and hope for the best. I should already assume the canon story will either not happen at all or be changed heavily but I would still like to go to the high school where everything takes place if Tatsuya and Miyuki end up going there still maybe i could convince my mother to allow me to go as some sort of secondary overseer or something. Ah shit I just remembered the battle of Okinawa is a little under 8 years from now and since there is a chance i will be there when it happens i might as well train for the possibility. Tatsuya's five now and the surgery to give him the ability to use regular magic happened when he was six the specific date or month was never given, but i can at least assume it was either on or after April 24th. Assuming they don't plan to move it up that is.'
Sigh 'I don't even want a peaceful life because I know that's a foolish thing to ask for at this point there are wars happening right now. well enough of that I'll try to convince... mother, gonna have to get used to that, to start training me soon but for now I'll rest' I proceeded to finish unpacking what little I had. Then waited for mother to summon me.
Authors note: Okay another chapter done. Tired and recovering from a massive caffeine crash yesterday a cup of coffee 2 cokes 2 espresso and a monster energy slept 13 hours still tired, lol. Anyway I'm planning at least two more chapters for this point in the timeline him being introduced to the other Yotsuba and then him starting his training with maya then I'll probably do a time skip to the Battle of Okinawa consequences of starting so far back in the timeline oh well live and learn there will be some notes about events of things during the time skip.
