Tatsuya's training with the soldiers was beneficial for him. He wasn't a complete novice as the Yotsuba mainly had him trained in CGC, due to even after the surgery he couldn't use other magic effectively. He was still a novice compared to trained soldiers, although better than some average joe of the street. Definitely not the CQC master that he becomes later.
'Now that I think about it that was probably his trade off for having such OP intrinsic magic. I hadn't considered that before. Obvious in retrospect though.' I thought
Later that day the G.A.U. troops landed and we were deployed. One of the benfits of Mahouka is I no longer have to scream my attack names like a moron. I love shonen anime but shouting your attack names is stupid. Even if saying it would give a potential boost in power. The enemy knowing what's coming is a much greater disadvantage than the benefit. The strongest attack means nothing if it doesn't hit. The other upside is because of how Dragon slayer magic works I have practically near instant cast speed compared to other devastating magic. Most high power spell have a high build with some exceptions, Tatsuya's Mist Dispersion being one of them.
The troops on the ground weren't even magicians. Although they were armed with High Power Anti-Magician Rifles. Tatsuya and Honami were assigned closer to the shore to deal with the ships. Kuro and I were on a separate battlefield clearing out ground troops.
-pov- G.A.U command
The screams of our soldier rang out over the coms.
"Oh god they're tearing through us!!!"
"Fuck, we need reinforcements ahhh!!"
"I don't want to die! I don't want to die ugheee!"
"Shoot! Shoot them!"
The video displayed 3 youths. On one side of the battlefield a lone boy was tearing through our forces with a blue light that caused our soldier and weapons to evaporate. Enemy JSDF soldiers that were killed near him started getting back up after a blue light flashed on them as well. He ran through the battlefield causing Death like a god of destruction. The other side of the battlefield there were two youths one male, one female. The girl was charging through the battlefield like a mad dog with claws made of Psions. Moving at extreme speeds cutting through our men like a plasma cutter through cheap steel. The boy how ever was like a walking artillery emplacement the bottom part of his helmet would open up and he would exhale massive beams of psions with practically no time lag. A litteral rain of star like projectiles that would chew through entire regiments like an artillery bombardment. Some of the few magicians we had managed to get close enough to cast at him, but what happened next cemented this man as a nightmare for our forces.
"What the Hell! He ate our magic! What the hell is he Ahhhhhh!"
"Monster he's a monster!!"
I clenched my teeth as the commander of this operation to be bested by children was humiliating.
"Fire all the missiles at those 3!" I commanded
-pov- Ryu Yotsuba
'Weak, so fucking weak. I trained my ass off for this and they have the gall to be this weak disappointing and insolent.' I thought normaly I would be arrogant for thinking this but it was true. Kuro was like a a whirlwind of death cutting men in half before they could even react with her intrinsic magic plasma claws.
'I under estimated the destruction I could cause with this magic. I've never gone all out before. I also apparently I got acnologia's immense magic pool, although converted to being a Immense psion count. Didn't know that came with that.' I thought fireing off another Giga Flare evaporating the soldiers hit and scaring the earth.
I followed up with an Eternal Flare that spell Acnologia used that was manifested as stars bombarding the battlefield. Further scaring the earth as if n artillery barrage had been called.
A few enemy mages managed to get close by circling around to my position. 'Those gnats dare to use magic against me let's make the feel despair before they die.' I thought it enraged I inhaled deeply consuming their magic.
Compared to the Yotsuba idiot who I can't bother remembering properly. Their magic tasted halfway decent. The looks of horror on their faces gave me immense satisfaction.
While they were screaming in fear and confusion I quickly used Arcane Dragon's Hegemony. Bright light explode out from obliterating the nearby magicians.
'This is getting boring.' I thought
Then suddenly the sound of missles firing rang out. My eyes widened.
"Shit Kuro get clear. Incoming Ballistic ordinance" I shouted
She launched herself at highseed and got behind me. I released another Giga Flare and swept my head taking out the missles coming towards me the enemy. They all exploded. I heard some go off near were tatsuya was fighting I guess it's time as suddenly I saw Tatsuya's strategic class spell material go off taking out the fleet supporting the ground forces. Realizing their commander and naval support was gone the remaining ground troops quickly surrendered. High value targets who surrender would later be released back to their country in exchange for a form of compensation. We didn't drop our guard as other soldiers quickly moved to secure the surrendering enemies. I overheard a soldier who looked at me he muttered something that only could here due to enhanced senses that dragon slayer magic gives. He referred to me and Kuro as Mahadeva and The Raging Asura respectively.
Sometime later at the Okinawa JSDF base
We were ushered into a meeting room Captain Kazama, First Lieutenant Yanagi, Second Lieutenant Samara, Aunt Miya, and my mother were there. I noticed Honami wasn't with us. I guess she already sacrificed herself and died of magic overuse protecting Tatsuya. Me and Tatsuya saluted the captain, Kuro did too although clumsily after realizing what to do.
"At ease you three you all did exceptionally well." Said Captain Kazama.
Mother smiled at me proud of my show of force toward the enemies.
"The three of you will be granted the rank of special officer due to your contributions to fight. All three of you will transferred to the newly established 101 Independent Magic-Equipped Battalion." He continued
"Understood!" We said in unison
"Dismissed." He said as we walked out of the room with Mother and Aunt Miya. we met up with Miyuki. We would be heading back to the main house to pick up some thing before joining up with battalion. As this chapter of history closed well let's see what the future holds.
