The end of Logan's first day came to, and he was significantly interested in almost all of them, aside from the writing guide class.
Magic tools also interested him a lot, but not as much as magic theory. In the first class his teacher only explained what they are going to cover, and that the class will be a big part of their grade.
The first week flew by, and over the weekend Logan hung out with Nick, grace, and Iris. Logan didn't invite Tess because he wanted her to fit in to her class fine.
"There have been a couple rumors around school, about a kid who passed the test one year earlier and at the top" grace said when they were at the cafe. "That's probably Tess" Logan said not paying it much mind, "well if it gets out your her brother you might get bullied, Because she is a prodigy and good looking, while you are normal in both grades and looks" Nick said warningly. "I'll be fine, I know all the things there going to say aren't going to be true, so they aren't going to hurt"
The first day of the next week came soon, and the rumor spread fast. "It seems the rumor spread fast over the weekend" Iris said looking around, "yeah but it's to be expected, it's not going to die down over the weekend, if anything it would spread faster" Logan said looking towards an especially loud group, it was Laina's group, they were talking about Tess and loudly planning to make her a part of their group after school.
The lunch break was the same for all grades, and so when Logan went to lunch with grace, and Iris they saw Tess getting surrounded by first years, when they went to see what was going on it turns out she was getting asked to be friends, and also getting asked out it seems.
When Tess saw Logan over the rest of the first years she immediately went to him to try and get out of that situation, "oh hey Logan" she said while pushing through the crowd. "Want to eat lunch together?" "Sure that sounds good" Logan said looking for a empty table, "let's sit there" he said pointing towards a empty table.
Logan new that he was born into a family that stands out so he has to bear with some standing out, so he thought it would be to obvious that he's trying to not stand out. While they were eating lunch, a lot of kids were staring at Logan because he was the only boy at the table full of pretty girls, and the girl that was just the center of attention, especially all of them being part of the elite family's, while Logan was was just an ordinary looking guy.
"Hey Tess you should be careful there might be a lot of people trying to become your friend" Logan said after they finished lunch, "I think you're the one Who should be careful. Their stares are full of jealousy" Tess said looking around, "I mean who wouldn't, a boy sitting with 3 beautiful girls." "Yeah I know I should of probably thought that out"
Iris got flustered that Logan didn't deny Tess's statement of her being beautiful, "Oh? getting embarrassed are you, why's that" grace said teasingly towards Iris. "No reason" she said looking down.
The next day in home room, Laina's group walked up to Logan's normal group. "Hey why did you sit with that popular new girl?" Laina said crossing her arms. "Because she's my sister. Didn't you see her hair?" Logan said confused, "I'm not a creep".
"She's your sister, I would of never guessed, because what she's a prodigy, and good looking, while your just average. She must be embarrassed to have you as a brother" Laina said with her clique laughing. Logan just shrugged, since Logan didn't give the reaction she was expecting, she thought she would come up with more things to use against him.
That same day in magic theory they started a new subject, it was about mana channels, since magic theory was one of the only classes he liked he focused more this class.
"Mana channels are the natural paths for mana to flow throughout your body, the size of your channels stay consistently the same throughout your growth, but there have been some recorded instances where some people's channels grow. Currently there is a group working on researching how to do this manually" his teacher explained.
Logan got significantly interested in this concept so he decided to research it himself. At first he just tried to feel his mana channels like how he did when he first found out about them, but this time instead of focusing on the mana he took away all his mana inside his pointer finger.
A weird phenomenon happened, he couldn't move his finger, so naturally he put mana back into it, and before he knew it he could move it again. Since Logan knew how fingers move, he knew that the channels and nerves had to be connected or something else.
It was late in the night so Logan decided to explore the subject later and get some sleep. The days came and went, soon 2 months passed. on one of those days Logan found out how to expand his mana channels in order to utilize more mana at once.
He found out how to restrict some mana channels while other ones stay open, and in turn he found out that the channels were made out of a special material, where flesh mixed with mana to create channels where nerves are. While researching he found something that others didn't know about, there was a place that mana gathers in the center of the body where mana goes towards.
In order to utilize more mana Logan used space magic to connect all the space inside those channels to the alternate space for his mana and now he can use a whole bunch of mana.
