POV: Scarlett Mitchell
She finds him in his office at 2 AM.
The building is empty. Just Scarlett and the man she loves sitting in a room full of glass and darkness. Outside, London sleeps. Inside, everything is falling apart.
Cameron doesn't look up from his desk when she enters. He's been staring at the same document for the last ten minutes. Scarlett watched him from the doorway long enough to know.
"We need to talk," she says.
"There's nothing to talk about," Cameron answers without moving his eyes. His voice is flat. Empty.
Scarlett walks to his desk and sits down directly in front of him, blocking his view of the papers. Only then does he look at her.
When he does, she barely recognizes him.
His eyes are cold. Not angry cold. The kind of cold that comes from someone who has already decided you don't matter anymore.
"You've been avoiding me for three days," Scarlett says.
"Yes."
"You won't return my calls."
"No."
