I look up stuff on snowstorms. I see a message from Effie, it's about Sunny's dreamscape persona. Maybe I should make one too.... nah, I don't really like fighting and I don't have to "train" like Sunny does.
I go back to reading. After a while, a few hours I think I see Sunny come back upstairs. He gets himself some food opens up his communicator and almost falls over.
"■■■■! Did you know about this"
He holds it up, it's Effie's message
"Hm? Yeah while you were out I looked up your dreamscape persona.... do you not look yourself up?"
"No!?"
"Oh, I probably should have said something about it"
I look away, a little guilty
"Oh yeah, that's a cool mask, when did you get it?"
He sighs
"On the forgotten shore after the fallen devil. ■■■■ normal people don't look up their names on the network"
I shrug going back to reading.
I make a few comments here and there with my new account, on art and things like that. Sunny's over there muttering to himself in what I can only assume is a panic. I even saw some stuff that I was mongrel which I promptly shut down. Really that's really funny.
Some people was saying that Mongrel is Nightingale! I laugh out loud at that one. I don't tell them who Mongrel is but I do comment how it can't be Kai he's an archer not a swordsman.
There's a few saying it's Caster, that one is somehow both more and less reasonable. I screenshot that and I sent it to Caster. Really this whole situation is just too funny.
Later we go into the dream realm, Sunny's still in a tizzy over the whole mongrel situation. We go around asking for information on Shipwreck Island. I also ask for coins, might as well make some.... soul shards?
While I'm at it. It takes about a day for us to finally get all the information we need.
"Okay so you know the plan you go first and we meet up at the island next to shipwreck"
"Yes yes I know sun. I'll set up the camp when i get there. I'll be fine"
Sunny can get so worried when I go off on my own, I may be reckless but I'm not stupid enough to take on a fight im not sure ill win.
I duck under a claw swipe, I cut its arm off with a dagger. I jump back avoiding a slam as the thing screams, its attacks are a lot slower with ice film affecting it.
Singer flies forward as floating ice chains bind it pinning it down in cover my ears and she lets out a scream, god if it wasn't an attack I wouldn't ever want to hear it. It's a mix of an elemental attack, mind, and even soul attack.
The soul and mind parts are weak and are mostly just to rattle whatever got hit with it. The scream itself is loud and horribly grating, mix that with a woman who's about to be murdered with a.... saw. It honestly is one of the worst sounds ever heard.
0/10 if it wasn't useful would never hear again. The large wolf thingy gets stunned by it and Flame goes for the final hit biting its whole head off. I flinch at the sound it makes "gross." I start the process of butchering the wolves I killed.
I get the the edge of the island I grab her hand activate my wings and we fly over to the next island. Flame runs along the chain and it jumps onto the island. I climb on top of it and we to moving. I flip a soul shard in my hand bored.
"What's up with the whole chain thing?"
She tilts her head
"It works doesn't it?"
I nod, it's likely a bad cover but I don't want to offend her. I shrug
"It works quite well I'll give you that."
We keep going until we get to a place I was told about. I find the weird pile of rocks and I dig under it. I find a box full of about 20-something coins.
"Hell yeah!"
I drop them in my satchel.
"Let's go now"
We get back to moving
"I can't believe that you didn't tell those people"
I mean yeah I didn't mention to anyone that the coins could be used as soul shards but...
"I don't know them."
She shakes her head in amusement i think
"You are a work of art you know that"
I turn away, I can tell the vibe of it being her calling me a mix of an ass and a weirdo. I shrug if those people were in a life or death situation I'd help them but they aren't so I'm not going to.
I chew on some jerky sometimes leaning down and giving Flame some. I had summoned a newer memory I bought, a headpiece that lets me see far and see in the dark.
Although the far part is an active ability and not even half as good as Kai's and the see in the dark part is also not that good as it's kinda hazy.
It took a lot of soul shards to get but I only ever use half of the soul shards I get. Even at night we keep moving. Flame jumps onto the chain and we keep moving.
Soon we get to the island jumping up. I jump off and I start setting up camp. After a few minutes, I'm done with setting up camp. Now to wait for Sunny to get here.
I get woken up by Sunny standing over me kicking me in the side. I grab his leg yanking it forward causing him to fall on his ass to which I laugh at him
"What the hell ■■■■"
"Waking me up never ends well."
He gets up and wipes himself off
"I got a new weapon"
I wave my hand
"What from"
He grins, looking like a cursed doll that would 100% come to life and stab someone to death
"A ascended devil"
"you crazy maniac, do you make it a point to punch above your rank"
He frowns
"I shouldn't have expected a reaction when you just woke up"
I get up dusting myself off. Singer floats over
"An ascended devil? Not a fallen one?"
He nods
"Yeah I'm just as confused as you. I don't think it was an echo but I'm not sure at this point. The thing could turn into people and from its body dropped a mirror shard"
"You are keeping that. I am not dealing with whatever bullshit comes from that"
He gives me an annoyed look
"Why do I have to deal with it then?"
"You killed it you deal with the consequences of that."
I climb up onto Shipwreck Island. Sunny laughs at me for a bit before pulling me up.
"It's not funny. I'll get you and I'll make it look like a goddman accident"
He just laughs harder. We start moving, he's being careful, I, not so much. As we get closer wooden doll things form, Saint slashes the first and the fight gets started. I move forward freezing one solid

I summon the new memory, a shield. I start bashing the sailor dolls with it. It's my only ascended memory after all. It takes us a while to get to the ship. I desummon singer and flame. I take a few steps in. I made an ice mask, it smells really bad. Like really really bad. It's kinda sweet in a bad way.
We walk farther in, there's vines on the walls.... how gross. I avoid touching any, it just seemed gross. Suddenly Sunny ducks down grabs something and when he stands back up he shows me a golden coin. I nod, wait when had he put on a mask thingy?
Mine seems to be far more effective. We walk picking up coins as we walk, at one point I feel a bundle of heat from a wall over. Probably the source of the vines. We keep walking getting more and more coins until we get to the door. I freeze the hinge until it breaks. I carefully move it putting it next to where it was before.
Inside the room was a chest full of coins. I look over at Sunny and he looks at me. He wanders over to it and sticks his hand in.... "Wait! It has a-"
and it clamps down on his hand with him barely able to put his sword in between it and his arm
"Oh shit a mimic!"
I rush over. A tongue comes out of it trying to choke him how absolutely disgusting. The sword turns to a spear spiking the mimic it screams and spits sunny out.
It pops out arms and legs I jump on the damn thing like an insane bug. It kicks Sunny away but the power is greatly limited. I start freezing the damn thing, it throws me off. It goes for the more injured combatant, Sunny- that I'll kill it, I'll tear it to shreds il- Sunny teleports out of the way.
The fuck laughs, well not for long as sunny stabs the vines, from its heat signature it's a corrupted one. The whole ship starts to shake, oh fuck oh shit. I duck outside not willing to die.
I peek back in and it decided to still try to kill sunny, the greedy- I'm here out of someone's greed as well I can't be doing this. It jumps at him but Sunny ducks away and it rams into the now pissed off vines. Sunny gets into the treasure room and it comes running after him and past him right out of the ship. Sunny grabs all the coins he can, and I grab the rest.
"Ow,"
he keeps going after being slightly hurt by something?
"Huh?"
"I cut myself on the glass, let's go come on"
We get up and Sunny goes after the mimic.
"God damn it sun you're going to get cursed"
He gets it in the leg and it's gotten by the vines but so is he. I use heat sense to run over without being grabbed. I jump on the thing, and it lets out a horrible noise as I start freezing it.
It gets free by cutting the vines away. It throws me off with a laugh. Sunny soon gets free and follows it. The chain looks rusted, I slowly look over at Sunny who glances at me then the ship at the chain he jumps down. I jump down after him not after sighing dramatically. I summon a singer who floats me above the chain and the chain worms.
The mimic and Sunny get to the island before I do and it soon goes into assent. I float over but I know I can't really help. Then the worst sound I have ever heard in my whole life sounds out, the chain breaking.
I watch as Sunny is lifted into the air, I don't know if he has the essence to stay a shadow long enough to survive. I see movement and I look over a small untrusted part of the chain that floats over and fuses with Singer who looks at me and
"Sorry"
Then she disappears
[Your ice shard is evolving]
I'm left on my own, and I float slowly down using the stained glass wings. "Shit shit shit shit" I could try to no no no that won't work. I could maybe make an ice bridge. It may work but- I look up at the sound of cracking. The island sunny was on breaks apart and falls apart.
"Sunless! Wait, OH SHIT!"
A rock comes flying down at high speed one hits the wings not breaking them but damaging down. Then one hits my face and I'm out like a light
