Chapter 30 - Chapter 8 – The Leviathan Hunters

Ashes of the Silent War: Shadow of the Leviathans

Chapter 8 – The Leviathan Hunters

The ruins of Aurelia burned for days.

From orbit, the once-great coastal city looked like a black scar carved into the continent.

Millions had escaped.

Millions had not.

Across the world, governments, warlords, and surviving city-states watched the footage in horror.

Humanity had faced Leviathans before.

But the Abyss Titans were something entirely different.

Stronger.

Smarter.

And far more destructive.

The Second Leviathan War had truly begun.

The War Council

Three days after the fall of Aurelia, the leaders of the surviving factions gathered in the rebuilt capital of Sephira.

The massive council chamber was filled with generals, scientists, and diplomats.

At the center of the room stood Kael Varden.

The man who had once ended the Silent War.

Now he looked older.

Harder.

The war map behind him glowed with red markers.

Each one represented an Abyss Leviathan sighting.

And there were dozens.

Kael pointed to the map.

"Aurelia was not the only attack."

The room grew quiet.

"Within the last seventy-two hours… Abyss Leviathans have appeared on three continents."

Gasps spread through the council.

A general spoke first.

"You're saying this is a global invasion?"

Kael nodded.

"Yes."

Another leader asked the question everyone feared.

"How many monsters are we facing?"

Kael paused.

Then he answered quietly.

"Too many."

The Birth of the Leviathan Hunters

The doors to the council chamber opened.

A team of soldiers entered the room.

They wore experimental combat armor—sleek, black, and reinforced with glowing blue power cells.

Behind them rolled a large weapons case.

Lyra stepped forward beside Kael.

"The old weapons from the Silent War won't work anymore," she said.

She opened the weapons case.

Inside were new prototype weapons.

Massive rail rifles.

High-energy plasma lances.

And armor-piercing Leviathan blades.

"These are Anti-Abyss weapons."

The council members leaned forward.

Lyra activated a hologram showing Behemoth's armor structure.

"Our research teams studied the energy readings from Aurelia."

The hologram zoomed into the Titan's chest core.

"There's a weakness."

The room grew silent.

Lyra pointed to a glowing section beneath the Titan's chest armor.

"Abyss Titans generate massive energy through their core."

"But that energy also creates pressure fractures in the surrounding armor."

Kael finished the explanation.

"If we hit those fractures with the right weapons…"

He looked around the chamber.

"We can kill them."

One of the generals spoke carefully.

"And who exactly is supposed to get close enough to try?"

Kael turned toward the soldiers behind him.

"That's why we created them."

He gestured to the armored team.

"The Leviathan Hunters."

The soldiers stepped forward.

The best fighters from every surviving faction.

Trained specifically to hunt Abyss monsters.

Their leader removed her helmet.

Captain Seren Vale.

One of the most dangerous soldiers alive.

Kael spoke firmly.

"These soldiers will lead the fight against the Titans."

The council members exchanged uneasy looks.

The war had entered a new phase.

The Architect's Command

Far away, deep within a hidden ocean fortress…

Adrian Voss watched the global war map.

Red markers blinked across multiple continents.

Entire cities were already under attack.

An Architect officer approached him.

"Behemoth's demonstration was successful."

Voss nodded.

"The fall of Aurelia broke humanity's confidence."

The officer hesitated.

"But Commander… Kael Varden is reorganizing their forces."

A hologram appeared showing the Leviathan Hunter program.

Voss studied it quietly.

Then he smiled.

"Good."

The officer looked confused.

"You expected this?"

"Of course."

Voss turned toward a massive armored chamber in the center of the fortress.

Inside the chamber slept something enormous.

Bigger than Behemoth.

Much bigger.

The chamber lights activated slowly.

Revealing a monstrous shape within the darkness.

Voss spoke softly.

"Humanity needs hope."

The officer stared at the creature.

"My god…"

Voss continued calmly.

"Hope makes their defeat more meaningful."

The chamber doors began unlocking.

A deep mechanical voice echoed through the facility.

ABYSS TITAN PROTOCOL ACTIVATED

The massive creature inside the chamber slowly began to move.

Its armor plates shifted like moving mountains.

Voss spread his arms slightly.

"Allow me to introduce…"

The titan's glowing eyes opened.

"Abyss Titan – Colossus."

Even Behemoth looked small compared to it.

The Leviathan Hunter Mission

Back in Sephira, Kael stood inside a massive military hangar.

Dropships prepared for launch.

The Leviathan Hunters loaded their weapons.

Lyra approached Kael.

"Recon drones found something."

She projected a hologram.

An Abyss Leviathan had appeared near a distant industrial city.

The monster was tearing through power plants and factories.

Kael looked at the Hunter squad.

"This will be your first mission."

Captain Seren Vale nodded.

"Target?"

Kael pointed to the hologram.

"Kill it."

The Leviathan Hunters boarded their dropship.

As the engines roared to life, Lyra spoke quietly to Kael.

"This war is escalating faster than we expected."

Kael watched the ship disappear into the sky.

"Yes."

He looked toward the horizon.

"Because Voss isn't trying to conquer the world."

Lyra frowned.

"Then what is he trying to do?"

Kael's expression darkened.

"He's trying to reset it."

Far away, deep in the Architect fortress, Abyss Titan Colossus took its first step.

The ground shook across the entire facility.

The Second Leviathan War was no longer just a battle for cities.

It had become a war…

For the survival of humanity itself.
