Sergei took the disk and browsed it on the computer. He wasn't a scientist, but he knew a fair bit of relevant information. Don't forget, he was the one in a million T-Virus Adapter.
"That's a very good idea and concept. Has this thing of yours ever succeeded?" Sergei asked.
"Of course, I feel great now." Eddie directly grabbed a table, lifting the two-hundred-pound table with one hand.
"Yesterday, I experimented on myself, and it succeeded! My appetite increased, and at the same time, I became much stronger." Eddie was very proud, his expression a little crazy.
"You experimented on yourself? You're a madman!" Sergei's expression was blank, seemingly with a hint of a sneer. It seemed Spencer was right; this guy was indeed a madman, and a usable one at that.
"How many ordinary people are there who can hold a position at Umbrella?" Eddie retorted.
Sergei was silent for a moment. "This information is good. What do you want?"
Eddie thought for a moment. "I haven't decided yet. Just keep it in mind for me. I believe Uncle Spencer won't forget. This serum still has better developmental effects, but it doesn't seem to align with our current products, so I don't know what it could be exchanged for."
"Your invention is excellent. You can have anything you want. Just tell me when you've decided. The Chairman has given me all decision-making power," Sergei said proudly.
"Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll be going, Uncle." Eddie waved his hand. Talking to these magnates was like walking a tightrope with every step. It was thrilling, but one wrong move could mean death!
Chapter 20: Annette's Startling Revelation!
Leaving the Umbrella Mobile Force's station, Eddie finally breathed a sigh of relief. The pressure from those bigwigs was too much. What he had to do now was appear submissive on the surface, while secretly looking for opportunities to gain benefits. Once Wesker died, he would expose all of his scandals and reap benefits again! A perfect plan!
Thinking about what happened yesterday, Eddie didn't want to go back to the lab for now. He didn't know how to face Annette. At least, it wouldn't be too late to go back after he figured out a solution.
Arriving at the meeting point with Mayor Michael, a super-large warehouse housed a helicopter. This was an important tool for escaping Raccoon City.
Eddie checked it over and found no problems. Even a brief lift-off was possible, and flying was not an issue. Everything was fine and could be used for escape.
Ring, ring, ring! The phone rang. Eddie picked it up, and Annette's cold voice came through. "Why aren't you coming to the lab? Are you afraid to face what you've done?"
Eddie was silent for a moment. "Are you alright? I'm preparing something that should be useful to you."
"I haven't told William, you can rest assured. We'll settle our score later. Now, get back here; don't make people suspicious," Annette's voice was still cold, but with a strange tone.
"Alright, I'll be back later. I still have things to do now." Eddie paused, still deciding to face the facts.
An hour later, Eddie returned to the lab. As soon as he entered, he saw Annette sitting weakly in a chair, her ten-centimeter high heels emphasizing her assertiveness.
"Do you have anything to say?" Annette's eyes were cold. If circumstances hadn't prevented it, she probably would have just shot this guy.
Eddie suddenly pulled out a bag containing fresh grilled wings, burgers, and freshly squeezed juice. "I think this is also a good thing. It lets me know in advance what the dangers are. You're my friend, and I don't want anything to happen to you. If you don't mind, I can give you my research data."
Annette snorted, uncharacteristically taking out a lady's cigarette and lighting it. She seemed unfamiliar with smoking, coughing a few times. "No need, I don't want your data. Do you think your research results are so impressive?"
Eddie shook his head. "I know that in terms of potential, T-Virus can't compare to G-Virus, but in terms of stability, G-Virus can't even come close to mine. You can also undergo enhancement. Do you know who I met today?"
"What does who you meet have to do with me? Who did you meet?" Annette smoked her cigarette, trying to calm her inner turmoil.
Women really say one thing and mean another. She clearly wanted to know, yet she pretended to be indifferent.
"I met Sergei. He asked me to investigate William. I said I'd been studying with you and hadn't seen William. His strength is very impressive; he's perfectly adapted to the T-Virus." Eddie didn't hide anything.
"Sergei! Are you trying to betray us?" Annette's eyes became incredibly fierce.
"Of course not. If I had betrayed you, I wouldn't be here to see you. I told you we're good friends, very good friends, and I wouldn't betray you. What I'm thinking is, perhaps you need a bit of my physique-enhancing serum." Eddie smiled, his smile very sincere and sunny, not like a bad person.
Annette nodded. As the cigarette burned out, she suddenly thought of something. "Do you know Dr. Mueller? A senior researcher at Umbrella's Hive in Raccoon City."
Eddie shook his head. "I haven't been with Umbrella for long, so I don't know. What does he have to do with us?"
"He's an expert with extensive research on the Tyrant series of biological weapons. He's very opposed to mass production and has unique design skills. He's also the lead developer of the T-Virus vaccine. If your current condition is hit by the vaccine, you could very likely collapse!" Annette said seriously.
"What do you mean? You want me to steal the vaccine?" Eddie frowned.
Annette nodded. "Not steal, but visit. He used to be at the Executive Training Center, so you should have an easier time with him. However, he has already left Umbrella and his whereabouts are unknown. What I mean to say is, you might as well get the vaccine data and then decipher it to reduce your weaknesses. Otherwise, you may seem powerful, but one shot could take you down."
Eddie began to ponder. This was indeed a problem. Among the Tyrant series, the strongest was undoubtedly the Thanatos Tyrant designed by Dr. Mueller, whom she just mentioned. It was the strongest of its kind, comparable to Nemesis. While it lacked in intelligence, it was very stable in terms of control.
How did that last Tyrant die? It was hit by a vaccine bullet and then exploded and dissolved on the spot. If it weren't for the vaccine, it would have been almost invincible, only continuously evolving.
"You're absolutely right. Is there any vaccine data in the company? I can get the vaccine data to study. But I still want to thank you for your valuable advice." Eddie smiled sunnily.
Annette snorted. "Even if there is, the company wouldn't tell you. It's classified! I'm just worried that if you die, it'll be detrimental to my plans, so don't overthink it." With that, she left, her high heels clicking, her steps a little unsteady!
Hmph, women! Always unwilling to admit the truth. Well, what's wrong with flattering her?
Eddie shook his head and also left, intending to go to Sergei for the T-Virus vaccine data. But then he reconsidered, wouldn't that arouse suspicion?
That evening, in his apartment, Eddie was looking at the incomplete data in his hand. These incomplete documents made it impossible to produce a vaccine, only detailing the theoretical aspects of the vaccine.
Jill was wiping her hair with a towel. "Darling, what are you thinking about?"
Eddie suddenly thought of something. "Jill, you're very familiar with Raccoon City, right? I want to find someone at the university, a former senior researcher at Umbrella named Dr. Mueller. I know he's hidden in Raccoon City University City, but I don't know his exact location."
Jill was a little puzzled. "What about it? Is it hard to find?"
Eddie nodded. "That's right. Umbrella either kills researchers who leave or wipes their memories. I'm currently looking for evidence of their crimes. We should keep these things to ourselves. Don't let a third person know, understand?"
Seeing the man's serious expression, Jill nodded. "I understand, darling. Whatever you say. You mean those tourists who disappeared and died tragically in the Arklay Mountains, is it related to Umbrella?"
"I can't tell you now. I'm not sure either. We should pretend we don't know anything for now, wife. Do you trust me?" Eddie suddenly asked.
"Of course, I trust you." Jill smiled, a goddess's smile, captivating and enchanting!
Chapter 21: Seeking the Vaccine! Ada's Doubt?
Jill was indeed an elite of the S.T.A.R.S.. Coupled with her many years of service in Raccoon City, she was intimately familiar with the area. It only took her a day to find the hidden Dr. Mueller, without expending much effort.
In the Biotechnology Building of University Town, on the second basement level, a middle-aged white man wearing glasses and looking like an intellectual stood before a transparent tank filled with nutrient solution. Inside was a biological weapon resembling a Tyrant. Unlike other gray-skinned Tyrants, this one was a rare black man!
Click, the door's access control was activated. Eddie, dressed in casual clothes, entered the lab. "Hello, my name is Eddie, a distant relative of Uncle Marcus. Are you Dr. Mueller?"
Seeing a stranger enter, Dr. Mueller immediately drew his pistol and said, "Step back. Are you from Umbrella?"
"No, I'm just like you. I have a grudge against Umbrella, and I need your help, for Uncle Marcus's sake." Eddie looked directly at him, without the slightest panic.
Dr. Mueller frowned, slowly lowering his pistol. "You said you're Director Marcus's relative? The useless one?"
"You could say that. Back then, it was all for survival. Don't worry, no one knows I'm here. Umbrella won't let you go, but they also won't find you." Eddie nodded.
"So that's it. You're quite cunning!" Dr. Mueller sneered, unsure if it was admiration or mockery. "What do you want from me?"
"I need the data for the T-Virus vaccine, 'White Light,'" Eddie said directly.
"Vaccine? What do you need a vaccine for? Are you infected?" Dr. Mueller asked, confused, his expression a little serious.
