Arlo's gaze then fell to Krisha and his countenance abruptly changed to a hundred and eighty degree.
He swiftly switched off his phone and straightened his back.
He coughed and beamed a smile at Krisha.
He said, "So, you're finally here, daughter of the Mayor. It's been a while."
Krisha rolled her eyes. "It's the first time I've seen you."
"But I have seen you countless times and I felt like I already knew you."
"No, you don't."
"And this is? Your friend who summoned an old rusty doll sword, right? You've made the right decision to train here."
"It's my father who decided for him."
"So, how did the meeting with Master Shen go? He's interested in you, right?"
"Stop acting like you were there."
Felix was dumbfounded by Krisha and the instructor's exchange.
Krisha was clearly displeased by the instructor's behavior and she didn't hold back at rebuking him with a straight face and tone at all.
He thought. As expected of the daughter of the mayor, she's fearless.
However, the instructor wasn't someone who would back away. He consistently kept the mood enliven… at least, for him.
He clapped and said, "It's good that you are here now."
"No, we distracted you, right?"
"I've been waiting patiently as I'm eager to share information that you would like to know."
"You're lying."
"So, what do you want to know?"
Before Krisha could rebuke him, Felix intervened. "Where can I buy clothes and uniforms? Necessities, too."
Arlo didn't hesitate to take the chance to escape from the trap Krisha had enclosed him.
He stood up and walked around the reception desk. Isaac had long left them, so he was now the one who took the lead.
He said, "Follow me. I'll lead you to the store."
They walked for quite a while and turned on the right side. Indeed, there was a store inside the Residential Wing.
Felix noticed that the ground floor was wide and spacious, and there were more rooms located, where disciples left and entered.
There was also a canteen located at the center, accompanied by almost a hundred tables.
Arlo entered the store with a key and went straight to the cashier seat.
He gestured for Felix to venture around the store, saying, "You can buy now. We accept cash or online transactions."
Felix nodded and expressed his gratitude. He also softly grabbed Krisha along with him, seeing her staring at Arlo with a hostile gaze, with PengPeng in her embrace.
When they reached a shelf that hid them from Arlo's vision, Felix said, "Don't mind him. He's already aware that your impression of him is worse. Even if he tried to fake it all to change it, just ignore him instead."
Krisha glared at the direction where Arlo was at and grumbled. "I just can't… Watching Apex Live carelessly in the middle of his job. Just how worst can he be? Furthermore, after knowing me, he immediately faked it all despite already being exposed just to establish a connection with me?
Why? Just because I'm the daughter of the mayor?"
Felix sighed. He comforted her. "People like him do exist. It might be difficult but the best decision is to always ignore him."
Krisha shrugged. "Whatever. Also, you! Do you think I'd just forget how you kept playing with me?"
Felix raised his hands and acted innocent. "I was just teasing you. Also, don't worry I have a gift that you'll definitely like."
Krisha was surprised. She crossed her arms and said, "It'd better be something I like. If I don't, you'll get a taste of my anger."
Felix chuckled—he couldn't help it, that was the first time he teased Krisha until he got angry. He felt deeply amused.
However, seeing him giggling as though he was teasing her again made Krisha glared at him again to remind his place.
Felix hastily stopped and said, "Alright, alright. Don't worry, I promised you that."
Krisha rolled her eyes.
…
For the next hour, not only Felix, but Krisha went to shop. Thankfully, there was an outer disciple who entered and assisted them. They later learned it was his job to be a salesman in the store as a punishment from being low in the disciple's ranking.
When it was their turn to pay, Felix swallowed the bitter taste of paying 30,000 credits. He could only convince himself it was worth the investment simply because of the uniform's quality.
Since he had just begun in the Azure Cleave Dojo, he bought the outer disciple's uniform—the most expensive there was.
The outer disciple suggested they buy it simply because a low cost uniform would inevitably affect their movements and it was easy to be ripped and crumpled during the training. In total, Felix managed to buy three sets of uniform and spent the rest on his casual clothes and necessities.
After they paid and were asked by Arlo Regan if they would buy more, they told him if they could settle on their rooms now but after asking a few set of questions.
"So, what do you want to ask?" Arlo asked. "By the way, I am Arlo Regan, a reserved instructor in the Azure Cleave Dojo. If there is an instructor from stillness, footwork, release, or beast synchronization, I will—"
"That doesn't matter," interrupted Krisha. "We want to ask where is Isaac? He's supposed to lead us to our room."
Felix was dumbfounded by Krisha's behavior.
Thankfully, Arlo didn't seem to mind as he responded almost instantly, "He left, obviously. Since he was ordered by Master Shen to lead you to your room, I'll report this to him. Don't worry, I know your room number, so you can leave it to me."
Before Krisha could rebuke, Felix immediately asked, "I want to ask what type of duel are available here and about the rankings of the disciple?"
Arlo was stunned. He was intrigued.
"About that, there are two types of duel… or let's say, battle, in which disciples compete to earn their rankings."
He raised two fingers and said, "The Mist Courtyard Ramble and Beast Sync Arena Duel."
